Allow me to introduce myself....
I'm a 25 year old Mississippi girl living in a suburb of a little town called Chicago.
I cherish my roles as a daughter, sister, and friend, but I am first and foremost a Christ follower. I’m continually growing in my identity as a child of God.
I’m a Clinical Psychology doctoral student at Wheaton College. And no…. I can’t read your mind, and I’m not analyzing you right now (those are the 2 most common responses to this statement... coupled with a look of fear, bulging eyes included, while quickly backing away from me...).
I’m a Southerner to the core, and I’m trying to leave my mark in this Northern (or Mid-western… but it seems north to me) culture. This is seen most often in my extreme use of the grammatically correct contraction “y’all” and my passionate mission of introducing all Northern folk to the joys of sweet tea.
If I could, I would probably read......... all. the. time.
My mom always says that I will paint anything if it stands still long enough.... and I must agree with this assessment.
I live with a Scottish Terrier named Lady Darcy of Pemberley. She lives up to the name.
Sometimes I slip into a sort of "Jane Austen dialect" without really realizing it… Alas, it is to be expected..
I laugh in response to almost everything.
I'm a "recovering people-pleaser" trying to God-please.... and taking it one day at a time.
My blog is an attempt to keep family and friends up-to-date on my adventures, while allowing me to reflect and share the ways I'm growing and learning in my walk with Christ. There are no guidelines or limits.... simply me being me. I will probably share a lot of my everyday silliness, along with my passions, dreams, and deep (or not-so-deep) thoughts. I’m growing a lot these days, and I’d love to share what I’m learning on my journey towards becoming Miranda (check out my first post). I'm so excited for you to get to know me better, and I hope I can get to know you, too!
